On Friday, the 9th March, the Greek teachers and students gathered the two remaining teams, Turkey and Portugal, at 9:45 at the hotel lobby and at about 10 the group walked towards the centre of the city.
The frst activity for the day was held at the “Mindtrap’, an Intelligence game centre. The games lasted for two hours and all participants found it interesting and challenging. It was also an excellent opportunity for interaction as the students played in teams.
At 1 PM the teams went on a bus tour to Lagada. On the way we also had the chance to stop and admire the beautiful windmills.
In Lagada, an amazing, calm and breathtaking village, teachers and students admired the landscapes and the silence as we walked through. The traditional seafood lunch was varied and unsurpassed in flavour. A truly unforgetable experience.
In the afternoon the students spontaneously played sport games and enjoyed their last day together.
We thank the Greek team for the marvellous plan and for all the experiences you have provided the visitors. This week will never be forgotten. As Pascal Mercier wrote in “Night train to Lisbon’ :
“We leave something of ourselves behind when we leave a place, we stay there, even though we go away. And there are things in us that we can find again only by going back there. “
We hope we will visit Chios again someday and find those little pieces of our hearts which were left behind.
