Romania Meeting – 1st December, 2017. Day 5

On the 5th day in Romania, we gathered together early in the morning, and left Hirlau in order to go to Iasi. We were welcomed by the open-hearted owner of the “Perla Iasului” hotel. We visited a small ethnic museum inside the hotel on the first floor, and got acquainted with Romanian traditions.
Then, we visited the Metropolitan Cathedral “Saint Parascheva” which was founded by Veniamin Costachi, a Romanian educator and school organizer of the early 19th century. Inside the cathedral, in a silver coffin, we had a great opportunity to see the relics of Saint Parascheva. We could pray by the relics.
Next, our group went to the Saint Mary Cathedral of Iasi. This is a Catholic temple, which represents a modern- looking church of circular tower culminating in a cross.
Then, we had a delicious lunch and went to the Palas Mall, the most visited place in Iasi, which is situated near the Palace of Culture. We had a possibility to enjoy doing shopping.
After that, we had a city tour with Romanian students. It was great!
We came back to the hotel late in the evening and enjoyed our company together. Our 5th transnational meeting in Romania was unbelievable and unforgettable. We will be missing and looking forward to seeing again in Greece!
