The Shortest Day in Turkey

Cubuk Yıldırım Beyazıt Anadolu Lisesi celebrated the shortest day of the year on 21 st December 2016. The event had 3 sessions. In the first session ‘ the shortest day’ was described in terms of a geographical phenomenon through a Powerpoint presentation.Apart from its being a geographical event, its reflection on human beliefs and cultures throughout the history were also mentioned at  this session. At the second session, we had another Powerpoint presentation, which is on ‘Time Management. ‘ The parcipants listened to it very attentively and shared their own experiences, which enabled us to have an interactive presentation. At the last session, the comment cards were anded out to the participants to get feedback. We were relieved to get very positive comments. Despite the cold weather and snow outside,the event had a very cosy atmosphere with home-made cookies and hot Turkish tea.While leaving the participants mentioned their resolution on using the time more effectively and efficiently.
