The Brown Bag Lunch meeting is an activity which is supposed to be held in each partner school taking part in the Project PIE. If we are to explain the term ‘Brown Bag Lunch’, it is a casual meeting that occurs during a lunch period and an informal oppurtunity for the participants to learn or discuss the issues. This type of meeting is referred to as a brown bag meeting because participants bring their own lunches to the meeting.
In our school, the first meeting -Brown Bag Lunch, was held with the participation of parents. The teachers and parents involved in the project had the chance not only to meet each other but also to be informed about the project. They brought some lunch with them and we had the meeting in a casual atmosphere away from the formality of school. First, we explained our project with a PowerPoint presentation and told them their roles in the activities. Second, we had our lunches including a pie-cutting ceremony with students. Finally, we applied the survey for parents and closed the meeting.
Parents seemed satisfied at the end of the meeting and they expressed their contentment about being a part of this project.
It is my great pleasure and honor to take part in this project. Thank you for all my friends for their support .
